The Corteza de Encina Festival is a chamber music event held during the summer in Ponferrada. Its aim is to give visibility to young talents from the Bierzo region in the field of chamber music. It takes place in unique venues such as the Bodega del Castillo de los Templarios (in Ponferrada Castle) or similar locations with good acoustics.

Chamber music concerts: duos, trios, quartets, quintets, etc. Repertoires include classical works (for example by Johannes Brahms, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach) as well as local premieres. Intimate and high-quality atmosphere: good ensembles, unique stage, and an audience interested in the genre.

It combines high-level music with a historical environment (castle, cellar), which adds value to the event. It is a different experience compared to massive concerts: a closer tone, careful acoustics, calm atmosphere. A good option to complement a visit to Ponferrada: you can enjoy cultural tourism in addition to the festival.
